HEIRLOOM HIGHLIGHT - CLAIR'S GOLD AND GREY MEXICO DESTINATION WEDDING INVITATIONS

Here in stationery world, summer is our slow(er) season. Think about it, you're ordering invitations 6-8 months before your wedding, so while everybody is enjoying their beautiful summer weddings, I get to sit back and relax a little. Except that I don't sit back and relax much, instead I tend to spend summers catching up on blogging, and behind-the-scenes business stuff.

It also means that, come summer, I have an entire season worth of new work to show off, erm, I mean share.

Today I want to share the Clair suite, which I created with my bride, Clair (I get two points for creatively naming the design, no?). Clair had a destination wedding in Mexico, which is my husband and my favorite place - we haven't been to Cabo yet, but it's on our bucket list.

Back to the topic at hand: Clair. Clair was inspired by the Élan calligraphy design, but since we didn't have time for calligraphy, I chose a font that maintained a similar aesthetic. The suite is silk screen printed in gold and grey on bright white, double thick, smooth as silk paper. The invitation was paired with the sweetest matte, blush pink envelopes and the results were like a sweet Mexican dream. Siiiiggghhh.

Join me next week as I share more wedding invitations from this past season!

FONT FRIDAY - LETTUCE

FRIENDS! Guess what today is? It's my big 30th birthday! I went back and forth about having a big celebration - I mean, there's so much to celebrate after everything that has happened this past year, but truth be told, I just want to lay low with my two favorite men (and Miss Juliet!). And eat cake. And buy fonts.

I've seen Lettuce floating around on my Pinterest feed for a while and it always makes me stop in my tracks. As much as I love clean, classic font choices, I also really love the trendier and more modern calligraphy styles. Lettuce is playful, feminine, and easy-to-read (a big deal for me!). I finally caved and purchased this gem a few days ago. I cannot wait to use it on a few invitations for sweet 2017 couples! You can grab Lettuce here for $15. You're welcome, and happy birthday!

Heirloom Highlight - Valentine Suite Featured in Styled Shoot on Aisle Perfect

Happy Halloween! I'm spending the day with my little boy, pretending he is old enough to trick-of-treat. Who am I kidding, the neighbors know a baby can't eat chocolate and that it's all for me! However, Richie sure does look sweet in his costume!

Since I personally prefer to celebrate the sweet side of Halloween, I wanted to share this beautifully edible editorial featuring the Sincerely, Jackie Valentine calligraphy invitation. I love the soft lavenders paired with deeper wine colors - any shoot that highlights a lavender macaroon on it is A-OK in my book.

Tatiana, of White Elephant Events, is a true style gem. She's got such a timeless, yet eclectic style, and I love collaborating with her. The inspiration behind this shoot was a "modern Marie Antoinette" (um, yes! amazing!) and it was captured by Christina Lilly.

Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot, which was also featured on Aisle Perfect.

FONT FRIDAY - FERUCI

It may be the end of yet another month (WHAT?! WHERE DID YOU GO, OCTOBER?!) but it's nowhere near the end of my font addiction, ahem, problem, ahem, obsession, ahem, I'm making this worse aren't I?

While we all mourn the passing of time, let's join together in adoration of today's Font Friday selection, Feruci. How can a font be so perfectly balanced? It's (dare I say it!) better than PSL! The combination of a serif font with flourishes is something I've been a very big fan of for a long, long time. I love how the flourishes take a fairly straight-forward font and turn it into something visually very interesting. You know what else is interesting? That Feruci is only $12 on Creative Market.

Feruci is exactly the type of font that the grooms I meet with love. It's not super feminine, but it's also not so masculine that a bride wouldn't want it for her wedding invitations. It's pretty much the perfect in-between for modern, classic couples.

Sigh. Let's all scroll through these beautiful images of Feruci together...

HEIRLOOM HIGHLIGHT - HAVEN SUITE FEATURED ON THE PERFECT PALETTE

Styled shoots are one of my absolute favorite creative outlets, and any time Leah, of Color Pop Events, and Juli of Julie Vaughn Designs are involved, I KNOW it's going to be amazing! Leah is best known for her ability to bring together bright, colorful elements with a chic, classic style and Juli creates the most beautiful, whimsical floral arrangements. Together, they blow my mind on the regular, and this particular shoot is no different. I love how unique this shoot is, with it's blend of soft blues, blue-greens, and pops of bright pinks, oranges, reds, and copper. Leah brought together the A-Team, which included Sincerely, Jackie's Haven invitation. The Flutter invitation is part of the Calligraphy Collection and showcases modern watercolor calligraphy by Everly Calligraphy. This shoot was featured on The Perfect Palette. You can see the full feature here, and scroll below for some of my personal favorite photos along with the full contributor list.

FONT FRIDAY - INDIGO BLUE

At this point we all know that I (not so) secretly love things that aren't at all feminine. My heart skips a beat for the heavier serif fonts, thin sans serif fonts, and, recently, scribbly-scratchy calligraphy inspired fonts. Indigo Blue caught my eye recently and I'm DYING to use it. I love that it's called a "passionate script", because it sure makes me excited! You know what makes me even more excited? It's only $15! Yes, you read that right. FIFTEEN dollars! You can purchase Indigo Blue over on Creative Market. Go on, I know you want to!
